Ending the season
About two weeks ago me and my teammates competed in the city championships here in NY. Me and my teammate zack qualified to compete to state champs after that race. I was really proud because it's been my goal since freshmen year to qualify in this meet and I finally did. We went upstate last week to compete.. We went on a bus with all the other athletes that qualified. I really felt proud being with the other better runners in the city. My coach told me that it was a good way to end my high school cross country career as well as the season. He told me that it's been six years since he had a state qualifier and that just made me more proud of myself. We stayed there for two days and they basically paid for everything like the hotel and dinner.. We only had to pay for breakfast but they gave us money for that too. The race was intense and the uphills were crazy. But it was probably the best meet vie ever been to. It made me want to run for college and do better. The best thing about it was that some of my teammates came to support us. They didn't mind taking the train there and walking about 7 or 8 miles. They didn't mind paying for their hotel room either. They really wanted to cheer us on. That night after the dinner for the runners me and zack went to their hotel and chilled with them till 10:30 because we had to get back at our room by 11 or they won't let us run. At their room we were talking bout college and how we might not get to hang out like that anymore and see each other everyday like what we do now since we all always hang out during practice. We were talking bout how it's gonna be different after high school. It's a little sad because were all really close friends. We all said that were gonna try to still hang out after high school and stay in contact. I really hope we do. I don't want to lose another set of good friends.
